Footage has emerged from the North London Derby showing police confronting fans outside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Arsenal emerged from the clash against their bitter rivals with all three points after surviving an impressive second-half comeback from the hosts, with the Gunners eventually winning 3-2.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz scored for the visitors after a Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg own goal, and although Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min scored in a frantic second half, Mikel Arteta’s side held on.

The Gunners thus end the weekend at the top of the Premier League, while claiming consecutive victories at Tottenham in the league for the first time in 36 years.

However, ugly scenes have since emerged from the match with cameras capturing the moment fans appeared to clash with police outside the ground.

The video shows a large group of police officers fighting with fans, with some fans visibly dragged to the ground by several bodies.

Another appears to have been pushed to the ground before being repeatedly punched by police officers who were wearing riot helmets and high-visibility jackets.

When another intervenes, apparently with the intention of helping the other supporter, he appears to be drawn in.

Throughout the conflict, off the field, projectiles and drinks can be seen thrown at police officers by onlookers.

Another clip was posted on TikTok showing a number of home fans inside the ground watching a conflict between police officers and a large group of supporters.

It is unclear whether both clips relate to the same incident at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There have been reports that away fans have found a way onto the pitch for the clash between the bitter local rivals.

There is much tension between the two local rivalries, who have long been historical enemies, with insults regularly hurled at players on the field from both sides.

Last season’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium saw a fan kick Aaron Ramsdale in the back before beating a hasty retreat.

At full time during the 2-0 victory, Ramsdale returned to the Spurs fans to collect his water bottle before a fan came down from the stands and appeared to kick the goalkeeper.

The fan, later identified as Joseph Watts from Hackney, was charged by police and pleaded guilty to assaulting the Arsenal goalkeeper.
