PITTSBURGH – A man was accused of having provided alcohol to the 20 -year -old who fell from the outside in a Pittsburgh Pirates match on April 30.
Ethan Kirkwood, 21, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Tuesday for alcohol accusation to a minor and a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 23, according to court documents.
Kavan Markwood was seriously injured after falling from the top of a 21 feet high wall on the warning track at PNC Park during a match between the pirates and the Chicago Cubs. Markwood has been admitted to the trauma center of the Alegheny General Hospital in critical condition, but has made substantial progress since fall.
Kirkwood said he had bought alcohol for Markwood at the stadium, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. The complaint also indicates that PNC Park’s surveillance video shows that Kirkwood buys two 24 ounce beers before another video a few minutes later shows Kirkwood and Markwood together, each with a beer.
