Police accuse two in string of armed robberies in Los Angeles area

Los Angeles police have linked two youths accused of robbing a South Los Angeles convenience store to a string of thefts throughout Los Angeles County.

Saturday, the LAPD received a call about an armed robbery in progress at a convenience store near the 3200 block of South Central Avenue. When police arrived on scene, a witness showed them the vehicle of the suspects who were fleeing the store.

Officers unsuccessfully attempted to stop the vehicle, then pursued it, according to a police report. During the chase, police said, one of the occupants threw a gun out of the car and it was recovered by officers.

At the end of the pursuit, police arrested the vehicle’s two occupants: Nathen Sanchez, 18, a Los Angeles resident, and a 12-year-old girl, whose name has not been released.

Nathan Sanchez, 18, and a 12-year-old girl are accused of robbing a convenience store.

Sanchez was arrested on a robbery charge, with bail set at $175,000. No information has been released on the fate of the 12-year-old girl.
