Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh is almost here and Niantic still has a few hidden bonuses that players can unlock during big events. This time, however, it will not include key elements of the region it is based on, namely Arceus.
Go Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles, the in-person portion of this year’s event, will take place February 16-18 and feature almost every Pokémon from the Gen IV games. Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia will also make their first appearance outside of Pokémon Legends: Arceus through special event raids. Arceus himself will not make an appearance, however.
In a statement from Pokémon Go Live event team Dot Esports has learned that Niantic has no plans to include Arceus, Manaphy, or Phione in Go Tour: Sinnoh, despite them being among the only Gen IVs missing from the game According to the team, they are trying harder to give each Pokémon a space to shine without being lumped into something else. “These three Pokémon are very special indeed, and we wanted to give them a dedicated space when they eventually appear. Pokémon Go beginnings”, a Pokémon Go the spokesperson said.
This wording suggests that Niantic didn’t want to overload Go Tour: Sinnoh with too much content while Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia are the new headliners. This also fits with the company’s usual strategy of expanding new Pokémon releases, especially larger ones like Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, across as many different events as possible.
Arceus is one of the most important Pokémon not present in Pokémon Go but, given that this season is called Timeless Travels and we don’t know anything about Go Fest 2024 yet, there’s a chance we could see the literal God of Pokémon appear soon – potentially with Manaphy and Phione in tow.
