Pokémon Go Bounsweet Community Day Guide

Pokémon Go is hosting a Bounsweet Community Day event on Sunday, May 19, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

As planned during a community day event, Candy will appear in large numbers with a high chance that it will appear shiny. There are also several other bonuses and perks, which we list below.

How do I catch a Shiny Bounsweet?

According to old research from the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine), Shiny rates during Community Days are approximately 1 in 24, meaning that if you continue playing during the three hours, you should find several. Shiny Pokémon.

If you’re short on time or Poké Balls, you can pop a Incensethen quickly tap each Bounsweet to check the shiny ones, avoiding the ones that aren’t. Notably, any Bounsweets you’ve already tapped will face where your player is, which should help you identify which ones you may have already checked off.

What Community Day movement does Bounsweet’s evolution learn?

If you evolve Steenee into Tsareena between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time, it will learn the charged move. High Jump Kick.

If you fail to evolve it during this time, you will likely be able to evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December to get the High Jump Kick. If you don’t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM to get started.

How does Tsareena perform in the meta?

In terms of PvE (raids and gyms), Tsareena is behind the usual strong attackers like Kartana and most of the Shadow and Mega starters (Mega Sceptile, Mega Venusaur, Shadow Venusaur, Shadow Torterra — you get the gist). However, it ranks among Roserade and Chesnaught in terms of power. So if you usually use these two and don’t have the resources to invest in Megas, Legendaries and Shadows, then Tsareena is worth using with Magic leaf And Clod of grass.

While High Jump Kick will give Tsareena some range in PvP, it’s probably not worth using outside of specialty cups and tournaments.

How can I make the most of Bounsweet Community Day?

The following bonuses will be active during Bounsweet Community Day:

  • 14 hatching distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event
  • Double candies to catch Pokémon
  • Doubled chance for Level 31+ trainers to get XL Candy from catching Pokémon
  • Incense lasts three hours
  • Lure modules last three hours
  • Special Bounsweet photobombs when taking photos
  • An additional special exchange
  • Stardust cost halved for trading

That said, you should definitely put your eggs in incubators, pop some incense, and try to catch some mighty Bounsweet.

If you can Mega evolution Venusaur, Sceptile, Groudon or Abomasnowyou will get additional Bounsweet Candies per capture.

On top of all this, Niantic is still running special four-star raids from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., where if you complete the Steenee raid, Bounsweet will appear within a 300 meter radius of the gym for 30 minutes. These raids cannot be carried out remotely. If the usual spawn boost from 2pm to 5pm doesn’t give you the Bounsweet you wanted, you can try raiding for another chance.
