PM Modi says 100 years of RSS reflects sacrifice and nation-building; launches commemorative coin and stamp

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (October 1) attended the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and said that the RSS has been dedicated to nation building since its inception 100 years ago.

“The creation of the RSS a century ago reflects the enduring spirit of national consciousness that has risen to meet the challenges of every era,” PM Modi said.

“The foundation of a century of work of the RSS is the goal of nation building, a clear path of personal development and the dynamic practice of Shakha (branch),” he added.

The Prime Minister said the RSS had made many sacrifices and remained guided by one principle – ‘Nation First’ and one goal – ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Greater India), adding that despite this, attempts were made to prevent it from joining the national mainstream after Independence.
