PM Modi congratulates the new Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, “ensure all the possible support for state progress” – Firstpost

Revanth Reddy was sworn in Thursday as Prime Minister of the Telangana Congress after the State was sculpted in 2014

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the newly sworn Minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy and assured him of “any support possible to advance the progress of the state and the well-being of his citizens”.

He was sworn in as Telangana CM by the governor of Dr Tamililis Soundarajan at the LB stadium in Hyderabad, while Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was sworn in as a deputy. On Thursday, 10 other ministers also took an oath during the ceremony.

Shortly after the ceremony of the new Oath of Telangana CM, Prime Minister Modi posted on X: “Congratulations to Shri Revanth Reddy Garu for having taken an oath as a chief minister of Telangana. I assure any support possible to advance the progress of the state and the well-being of its citizens. »»

The Reddy’s Oath Ceremony also attended by the senior leaders of the Sonia Gandhi Congress, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, the president of the Mallikarjun Kharge party and the Karnataka CM DK Shivkumar.

The congress ousted K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana after obtaining 64 of the 119 seats.

During the election of the Telangana 2023 assembly, which was held on November 30, the State saw a participation rate of 70.60%. The BRS had presented candidates in the 119 seats but did not set up 38 seats, while the BJP won eight seats.

The announcement of Anumula Revanth Reddy as a new Telangana chief minister was made by the congress on December 5.

According to reports, 42 of the 64 Congress deputies supported Revanth Reddy for the post of the next CM of Telangana.

Who is Revanth Reddy, Telangana’s new CM?

Reddy was born on November 8, 1969 in the village of Kondareddypalli from the Nagarkurnool district.

The 54 -year -old politician joined the congress party in 2017 and was appointed head of the TPCC in 2021.

He began his political career with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the RSS student wing. In 2007, Reddy was elected member of the Legislative Council (MLC) as an independent candidate.

Reddy is a deputy for Lok Sabha and a double deputy. In 2009, he represented the Andhra Pradesh assembly, later in the Telangana Assembly in 2014.

He was also a member of the Telugu Party of the AUM (TDP) and was elected to the Andhra Pradesh assembly in the Kodangal district in 2009. However, he left the party after his involvement in an alleged Sudoyer scandal.
