PLAYER RATINGS: Five Everton stars score just 2/10 in 6-0 demolition by Chelsea… as Moises Caicedo flourishes alongside Conor Gallagher

Chelsea produced perhaps their most convincing performance of the season as they beat Everton 6-0 in the Premier League on Monday night.

Star man Cole Palmer continued his superb campaign with four goals at Stamford Bridge.

Nicolas Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist also got on the scoresheet on a miserable night for the Toffees.

Here, Mail Sport’s Kieran Gill assesses both sets of players.

Cole Palmer was once again the star of the show as Chelsea beat Everton on Monday

CHELSEA (4-2-3-1)

Djordjé Petrović – 6.5

There was virtually nothing to show for Chelsea’s goal as Everton were extremely weak. I could just sit back, relax and enjoy the Cole Palmer show.

Malo Gusto – 7

One of those contributed to a shaky start, but Palmer’s early strike then eased the team’s nerves as Chelsea took complete control of this ‘competition’.

Trevoh Chalobah – 7

Glad to see the assistant flag correctly disallow Beto’s header for offside as Chelsea led 3-0 and overall showed a dominant sequence in defense.

Thiago Silva – 7.5

Still going strong at 39, heading Everton’s crosses and facing the physical challenge of Beto. “Oh Thiago Silva,” the supporters rightly sang.

Marc Cucurella – 7

Came down the left side relentlessly as his cross found Jackson for Chelsea to make it 4-0 before the break and was little troubled defensively.

Moses Caicedo – 8

One of those matches where each Chelsea player performed to the level expected of him. Interesting to see how much he benefited from having Gallagher at his side.

Conor Gallagher – 8

Partnering Caicedo in midfield in the absence of Enzo Fernandez and Everton couldn’t live with Chelsea’s overall setup, with another tireless performance from the captain.

Noni Madueke – 7.5

Good trickery on the right against Mykolenko. It’s a bit mean of him to get involved in some shoving with Palmer and Jackson when he wanted to take the penalty.

Cole Palmer – 9.5

Left foot. Right foot. On your mind. The perfect hat-trick, all scored in 28 minutes. He added his fourth to make it 5-0 by pulling one up when Chelsea won their penalty.

Mykhailo Mudryk – 7

He used his speed in the build-up to Chelsea’s second goal to bring the ball into the box and he is clearly growing in confidence with each start.

Nicholas Jackson – 8.5

He deserved a goal for himself and got it with a great catch, turn and finish to make it safe. But involved in some negative scenes when it came to who would take the penalty.

Mauricio Pochettino – 8.5

A perfect performance from his team – in which they avoided any temptation to indulge in self-sabotage – but who must name their designated penalty taker.

EVERTON (4-4-1-1)

Jordan Pickford – 2

Having already conceded two to Palmer, he then gave him a gift by attempting to pass out from the back. I hope he gets his errors out of his system before this summer’s Euros…

Seamus Coleman – 3

Put a little too much mustard on Beto’s cross – sorry – before the Everton captain was substituted at half-time with his side leading 4-0.

James Tarkowski – 2

Dear me. It wasn’t the most pleasant evening for Everton’s defenders as they were tormented until the very end when Gilchrist made it 6-0.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 3

He’s being linked with mega-money moves to the biggest and best clubs, but Palmer had his number here, pushing him in the build-up to the first game of this assault.

Vitalii Mykolenko – 3

Madueke twisted and turned Mykolenko into a pretzel as Everton struggled from start to finish, rarely looking like they were there to compete.

Ashley Young – 2

Showed some signs of frustration – like when he was booked for cynically tripping Gallagher – and one of those who put in a performance that didn’t suit the jersey.

Amadou Onana – 2.5

He could hardly get near the ball or any of his men in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, with the added embarrassment of being hung up at half-time.

James Garner – 2.5

It’s never a good sign when a manager hangs his two midfielders at half-time. It showed how lost the visitors were in the middle of the park as they trailed 4-0.

Dwight McNeil – 2

Let’s be honest, Everton offered next to nothing in attack from their wings, and McNeil barely gave a sniff down the left side.

Abdoulaye Doucouré – 2

An anonymous game from Doucoure until he gave Chelsea the chance to make it 5-0 from the penalty spot, fouling Palmer in the box.

Béto – 3

Frustrated with himself as he had a few chances to score, notably when Coleman’s cross fell to him in the penalty area. It was also 0-0 at the time…

Embarrassing evening for Everton. They showed no fight against a Chelsea team who we know have shown their vulnerability this season. Night to forget.

Paul Tierney – 6

Everton were furious at awarding Chelsea a penalty, but let’s be honest, the damage was done long before the hosts made it 5-0.
