Pixel Watch 3 hits FCC with UWB and 5GHz Wi-Fi

With Made by Google 2024 coming next month, the Pixel Watch 3 has arrived at the FCC for regulatory approval.

On Sunday, four model numbers were reported to the regulator. These are the Pixel Watch 3 — not the Pixel 9 — since the steps to access the FCC’s E-Label match Google’s existing Wear OS devices: Settings > System > Regulatory Information.

All four Pixel Watch 3 models support Ultra Wideband and 5GHz Wi-Fi. We reported in March that Google was working on using UWB to improve Watch Unlock with Pixel phones.

The first two generations of Pixel Watch only support 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n. Expect to see 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax this year.

Half of them have LTE connectivity, while the other two only have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The GBDU9 and GG3HH models were tested with a total of eight bands, while only five bands are reported for the GGE4J and GRY0E models. This could indicate the difference between the expected 41mm and 45mm sizes. Last year, Google let slip the band types in the Pixel Watch 2 FCC filing. That’s not the case in 2024.

Update…

GBDU9

GG3HH

GRY0E
