According to multiple reports, NFL owners are expected to award the 2026 draft to the Steel City later today.
It seems inevitable that every NFL city will eventually host the draft. With the exception of the Super Bowl, which requires favorable weather and local infrastructure including plenty of hotel rooms and a giant convention center, the draft can take place anywhere. Over time this will happen everywhere.
In two years, it will happen in Pittsburgh.
And Pittsburgh will be a wonderful host. It’s a big city with a small town feel. And Pittsburgh loves football.
Not just Pittsburgh, but all surrounding communities in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. This is the birthplace of soccer, and people will load up their cars, park them wherever they can find a spot, and drive to where tens of thousands of people will gather.
