Former Pittsburg quarterback Jaden Rashada is in the transfer portal after spending his freshman year at Arizona State.
Rashada posted the news on her personal Instagram account.

The East Bay native, who at one point was also committed to Miami, was the subject of a tumultuous recruiting saga that made national news when he decommitted from the University of Florida after multi-million dollar name, image and likeness settlement. fell through.
Rashada then landed at Arizona State, his father Harlen’s alma mater. Rashada threw for 485 yards and four touchdowns in three games as a knee injury kept him out of the lineup for nine games.
“I will be entering the transfer portal looking for the best fit for my career,” Rashada wrote.
Since a student-athlete can play up to four games while counting the year as a redshirt season, Rashada will have four years of eligibility remaining.
As a four-star quarterback at Pittsburg, Rashada threw for 5,816 yards and 70 touchdowns while leading the Pirates to the 2022 North Coast Section Division I title. He was named to the All-Bay Area News Group team as a junior and senior.
Rashada began his high school career at Liberty in Brentwood before transferring to Pittsburg. He then spent a short time at IMG Academy in Florida before returning to Pittsburg.
