The startup of Pyannoteai vocal intelligence has just raised $ 9 million in a seed lap led by Crane Ventures and Serena.
The French startup, launched in 2024, has developed an AI model for a concept called “diarisation of speakers”. It is the process of improving audio transcriptions to distinguish the different speakers – something with which AI has historically fought.
“Our mission is to make human interactions and natural AI by voice,” said Vincent Molina, co -founder and CEO, to Business Insider. “The voice AI industry focuses mainly on individual conversations between humans and AI. But real conversations are not like that. They are full of multiple situations, speeches, interruptions and short and chaotic turns,” he said.
The startup platform aims to guarantee that the AI model not only takes up a precise audio transcription, but also understands who speaks and their intonation. The expected result is that AI preserves the meaning of audio in different languages and use cases.
The model was developed using research by the startup co -founder, Hervé Bredin, who is the author of more than 30 articles on the subject.
Pyannoteai business use cases include large -scale audio indexing for multimedia platforms, rationalization of the dubbing process and transcription of consultations through business and health care. He counts Gladia and Medivox as customers.
Voice Ai has won significant land in the past year, with links and polyai increasing important tricks in recent months.
Molina said her startup had increased the interests of investors from Europe and the United States. “The entire landscape of the AI of the voice accelerates-on all strata: infrastructure, applications, models, etc.”, he told Bi. “Since we are positioned at the very beginning of the value chain, and because we serve the entire ecosystem, we have received a strong interest from a wide range of investors.”
The funding confirms the November BI report that Pyannoteai was in talks to collect around $ 10 million.
In addition to Crane Ventures and Serena, the Pyannoteai financing tour participated in Julien Chaumond, the director of Huggingface technology, and former researcher Meta and Openai, Alexis Conneau.
With the new funding, the startup said that she planned to develop her research team.
