The planes are exposed to the elements and spend a lot of time on the ground, so it is not completely unusual to see a fauna make its way in the cabin. However, here is something you don’t see often….
Two pigeons try to reach Delta planes
This incident occurred on Saturday May 24, 2025 and implies DL2348 flight from Delta Air Lines, planned to operate the flight of 228 miles of Minneapolis (MSP) in Madison (MSN). The flight was operated by an Airbus A220-300 with the registration code N310DI.
According to eyewitnesses, during the boarding process, one of the passengers told a on -board agent that there was a bird in the plane cabin. Shortly after, the captain confirmed that it was, and the maintenance was called, while the plane was still parked at the door. An employee of Delta managed to remove the pigeon from the plane, so the plane was then ready to leave.
However, while the plane rolled on the starting track, a second pigeon also appeared in the cabin. In a video published online, a passenger can be seen trying to capture the pigeon with his jacket. The plane ended up returning to the door, and a member of Delta maintenance staff is again aboard the plane to remove the pigeon.
The flight then ended up leaving for the second time. While he was originally to leave at 10:20 p.m., he ended up taking off at 11:37 p.m., then landed at 12:15 p.m., about an hour late. In a press release, Delta shared the following:
“Delta appreciates the prudent actions of our employees and our customers to safely withdraw two birds from the plane before departure and we apologize to our customers for the delay in their trip.”
It’s better than other wild animals, I suppose?
Although it certainly seems to be an unpleasant situation, in the scheme of fauna that makes its way in the plane cabin, it hardly seems the worst. I would take this on snakes on a plane, or rats on an airplane, or bats on a plane, or bedbugs on a plane (okay, I’m not sure that bedbugs constitute a fauna, but I get lost).
Moreover, sometimes birds are intentionally transported in the cabin (and we are not only talking about the old animal program for emotional support in the United States). In the Middle East, it is not uncommon to see people travel with their hawks. Damn, Sometimes there are dozens of hawks in the cabin. It must be a little unusual for other passengers, but it seems to work without too many problems.

And devil, at least the pigeons wanted good, choosing to pilot Delta, for this world -renowned premium experience. It’s just a shame that they could not pilot the new Airbus A350-1000.
End
Two pigeons managed to enter the cabin of a Delta jet. What is funny in this situation is only one was discovered at the beginning, so the maintenance was called to remove it. It was only after the plane was good in his taxi where he discovered that there was also a second pigeon, and that is why a return to the door was necessary. Fortunately, everything was well managed, and I hope the pigeons were released …
