Piers Morgan says watching Arsenal play Chelsea is inhuman and should be illegal – just like seal clubbing

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan likened his team’s destruction of Chelsea at the Emirates on Tuesday night to sealing clubbing.

The Gunners beat their London rivals 5-0 to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

It was one-way traffic for most of the match, with the home side mustering 27 shots over the 90 minutes – and the score could have been much worse.

TalkTV host Morgan joined talkSPORT Breakfast on Wednesday morning and was understandably in an insufferable mood.

He told Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist: “Arteta should have won it last year, Arsenal should have won it last year and all the fans know we snuffed it out.

“This year we can’t choke and we won’t choke. I am extremely confident.

“That performance (against Chelsea) – if that doesn’t make every Man City fan shudder, then I don’t know what will.

“Although it was a bit like watching a bludgeoned seal.” I know it’s horrible, but you know, when the seals are clubbed, when their little heads pop up…

“Seal clubs were a terrible thing, which was actually exposed by the Daily Mirror (when I was editor) – we got it banned.

“I think playing Chelsea should be banned now because it’s so inhumane.”

Arsenal still have four games to play this season to try to retain first place.

They are three points ahead of Liverpool, who have a game in hand, while Man City are four points behind but have two games remaining.
