A fireball was seen over New England Friday evening.

A photo taken from the White Mountains of New Hampshire shows a bright green light streaking across the sky.

Other videos shared online also showed a fireball over New England.

And the American Meteor Society reported dozens of fireball sightings at the same time across New England, Canada and the New York area.

Fireballs are particularly bright meteors, visible over a wide area. Friday night’s fireball sighting comes during the height of the Orionid meteor shower, which NASA says is known for its beautiful appearance.
