Phoenix police announce hundreds of arrests during five-day operation to crack down on violent crime

PHOENIXPhoenix police announced 570 arrests, 3,700 fentanyl pills seized, 25 firearms seized and two stolen vehicles recovered following a five-day multi-agency operation in the city of Phoenix.

Operation Full Court Press, as Phoenix police dubbed it, was primarily aimed at going after the city’s violent suspects.

According to a release, Phoenix Police, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the Maricopa County Prosecutor’s Office, Adult Probation and the FBI all played a role in the initiative which took place from June 6 to May 10.

The operation led to the discovery of a clandestine drug laboratory and arrests involving suspected gang members, human traffickers and organized retail criminals.

Commander Julie Egea congratulated the officers who worked on this file.

“These officers work at this level every week, this week just happens to capture what they are doing across the city,” she said in the release.

Many of those arrested had outstanding arrest warrants.

Police are asking if anyone in the public has information on suspects who have outstanding arrest warrants to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness if they wish to remain anonymous.
