PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The weather roller coaster in the Philadelphia area continues. There is an unusual warm-up going on in our area on Saturday.
Many parts of the region are already in the 1950s this morning as warm southwest winds usher in an unusually mild air mass for the season.

It is likely that new daytime records will be set for many cities in the Delaware and Lehigh Valley on Saturday – about 23 degrees above normal.
The permanent record in Philadelphia is 65, which was last set in 1971, the maximum forecast on Saturday is 70 degrees.
Most of the morning is expected to be cloudy and humid as a lull sets in before a cold front on Saturday evening. Winds will be problematic ahead of the cold front.
A wind advisory was issued over our entire region from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Southerly winds are expected to increase considerably, gusting at times to nearly 50 mph in the evening. Destructive gusts of wind are the main threat in stronger storms.

CBS3’s Llarisa Abreu recommends securing your holiday decor or any loose items while the winds pick up throughout the day. A thin line of gusty showers is expected to pass through the area after 6 p.m. Saturday and pass through Philadelphia around 8 p.m.
The front leaves at midnight and the winds will weaken to give way to a bright but windy Sunday.
However, the unusual heat is picking up and highs are expected in the 1950s and 1960s for most of next week.
