Almost five years have passed since Ladyman’s last conversation with Foden. Then he was just a kid at 18 years old. An extremely talented child.

People within the club had an idea of ​​what they wanted Foden to achieve, but what did he think was possible.

“The challenge for me has always been a mountain to climb to even get to the first team,” Foden says in It’s All Kicking Off! interview.

“In my head I just wanted to make an appearance for this club and be able to say I did it.

“But once I did that, I was like, ‘No, I can actually play here. I can handle the switchboard.”

“Now I’m at this stage where I feel like I’m a key player in the team. I feel very comfortable with that.

Foden now targets individual honours.

“I hope to be part of the conversation,” he said with two Player of the Year awards up for grabs.
