Phil Foden joins Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham to become fourth England player to achieve amazing feat this season
Phil Foden’s superb performance against Aston Villa saw the Manchester City star join a talented group of England superstars.
The 23-year-old scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Unai Emery’s side on Wednesday night to keep City’s title hopes alive.

His first came from a rather soft free-kick, the second from a low finish and the third from a fantastic strike into the top right corner, the best of the lot.
Foden’s goals took his tally to 21 in all competitions for the season so far, an excellent tally at this stage of the campaign.
And he now joins three of his compatriots in a group that boasts an impressive combined goals tally.
The City star is the fourth English player to score at least 20 goals and ten assists in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
Harry Kane leads the way for the Three Lions stars with 37 goals and 12 assists for Bayern Munich and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins follows with 22 and ten.
Foden’s 21 goals and ten assists place him third in the Three Lions list, followed by Jude Bellingham with 20 and ten for Real Madrid.
The only non-Englishman to have also reached such levels is Mohamed Salah, who has 22 goals and 13 assists with Liverpool.
Foden is also another young England star to have scored 30 goals this season and joins Bellingham and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer in doing so.

After scoring his hat-trick midway through the second half, Pep Guardiola opted to bring him off for the final ten minutes of the victory.
City fans gave him a great reception as he walked away, and Troy Deeney waxed lyrical about his continued improvement.
Speaking on talkSPORT commentary, he said: “He gets better every time you watch him play.
“More mature, more skillful, more elegant, whatever word you want to describe him with. He’s brilliant and he’s definitely man of the match today.”

If Foden continues to be in such good form until the end of the season, he could prove vital in City’s defense of their Premier League and Champions League crowns.
He is also very likely to be named in the England squad for Euro 2024, with the current Three Lions crop posting incredible numbers.
