‘Phenomenal s***housery’ – Paulo Dybala taunts ex-Arsenal star Matteo Guendouzi in tense Rome derby altercation
Matteo Guendouzi did his old tricks again when facing Paulo Dybala – who had the perfect response to him.
The former Arsenal midfielder failed to inspire Lazio to victory as they lost 1-0 to Roma in the Rome derby on Saturday.
Gianluca Mancini scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute, but it was a flashpoint midway through the second half that saw the match almost descend into chaos.
Guendouzi was seen with his hand around Dybala’s face, with cameras capturing him jabbing his thumb into the former Juventus striker’s cheek.
Dybala, who was part of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup-winning squad, refused to respond to the Frenchman’s attack.
Instead, he removed his shin guards which show him lifting the famous trophy – at the expense of Guendouzi’s Blues.
And after the full-time whistle, Dybala then celebrated in front of the 24-year-old, who famously grabbed Neal Maupay by the throat during his time with the Gunners.
Fans were loving Dybala’s shin-kicking shenanigans on social media, as one X user said: “Dybala, you’re a legend.”
Another commented: “Highest quality s***housery against a seasoned s***houser in Guendouzi. 10-7 Dybala.”
A third added: “This is how you silence a player.”
This fan then sent a message: “Dybala really showed her levels.”
Meanwhile, one simply said: “Phenomenal s***housery.”
Roma’s victory allowed them to close the gap on fourth-placed Bologna to two points.
But better news for the Giallorossi, the Rome derby saw the return of striker Tammy Abraham on the bench.
It was the England international’s first appearance this season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury ten months ago.
