PG&E proposes another rate hike by year’s end to recover from 2022-23 winter storms

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Your electricity bill could increase by another $6 per month by the end of the year.

PG&E proposes another rate hike as it still recovers from winter storms in 2022-2023.

The company spent nearly $950 million when storms knocked out power to millions of Californians.

Rates have increased by 110% over the past decade.

The Public Utilities Commission has approved previous increases to also help with wildfire response and prevention.

The CPUC is expected to vote on September 12.
