The producer also explained his reasons to kill the actor’s character. “I always think people wear the seats and are excited when Athena lands an airplane on the highway or a channe ship,” he said, referring Angela BassettThe character, “but after eight years, it seemed right, if we have a hope of creating stories in the future that have real participations, then someone must die.”
So why Bobby? “The first reason is that it made sense,” said Tim. “It did not seem arbitrary, because if you follow the tragic arc of his character, where he started, and how he came in search of expiation, it just has a tragic sense for his character in a way that it would not be for another character.”
Tim also said that he “just didn’t want to go little” with his decision to kill a character, adding: “Bobby’s death affects the story of each character in a way that no other character would do it.”
