David, the daughter of Attach your enthusiasm‘s Larry Davidrevealed a lot about his two and a half year old romance with Davidson in his test book in 2020, No one asked. The couple began to go out together in 2016, with David writing that they were “related spirits”. But she admitted that Davidson’s mental health difficulties had wreaked havoc on her.
“Previously, threats of self-control and suicide had come from trivial circumstances, from incidents that would go from 0 to 100, which were so momentarily urgent, like the last minute of an escape room before the moment, except that I am the only one in the room and that all the clues are towers,” she recalls. “Once he was back in a good head space, I would not be able to resolve to do it either; I was too mentally exhausted to do anything in addition to emotionally recovering the chaos of the previous week.”
After completing their relationship during a family trip in 2018, David tried to reconcile with Davidson in a moment of weakness. But she was shocked when he later sent him an SMS to reveal that he had evolved.
Two days later, she opened Instagram to see that her ex had “downloaded a photo of him with his hand covering his face to show his new finger tattoos,” she wrote. “My name, which had been written in cursive on its annular, was now covered with black ink.”
