Fans of the freshly announced team of Perth Bears from the LNR have unintentionally tried to join a club for gay men due to the confusion on the name of the organization.
The attempts of supporters to join prompted the group of supporters of Perth Bears to clarify that their membership is not based on the resurrected club, which played the first year as North Sydney Bears from 1908 to 1999.
“Bears Perth is a social group for men, created in 1993 … We are not associated with the newly announced LNR club,” the group said in a press release on Facebook.
“Please do not register for membership if you are here to join the Rugby Club.”
According to Grindr, a gay culture bear is a man who has a lot of body hair and also tends to have a greater physique.
It then comes that the chief of the rugby league in Western Australia predicted that the Bears de Perth will have 30,000 local members during their first season and claim one of the largest LNR fans bases.

After being confirmed as the 18th League team, officials began laying the foundations for the entry of the Bears competition in 2027.
A board of directors should be implemented by the LNR in the coming weeks, with the former Minister of Labor Peter Tinley among those linked to a role as one of the three Australian administrators in the West.
This will open the way to a CEO and a coach, with Brad Arthur the first favorite to supervise the team.
“I believe that if it is really meticulously and professionally, I would say 30,000 local members. I think 30,000 can be achievable, ‘said NRL Wa John Sackson CEO.
“If you look at some of the crowds we have obtained, closed workshops at HBF Park. Origin (match two, June 18) there will be 60,000.
“Exciting around the market, I receive SMS from people saying where should I sign?
Sackson also said that he had already been approached by several potential sponsors before last week’s official announcement of the LNR.
“I think it can be a country’s juggernaut,” he added.
“ You have two series of fans, the Bears north of Sydney and the Reds (Western), which were mercilessly ejected from their competitions and many of these fans have entered hibernation.
“They were deprived of their rights, disillusioned and many have lost against the Game of Rugby League.
“Now these fans have a second chance to support the Bears and the Western Australia franchise.
“If there is harmony and unity between the two bases of fans, it could potentially be the biggest fans of the competition.”
