San Francisco – One person was killed during a shootout on Wednesday afternoon near the Quai de Fisherman in San Francisco, police said.
A suspect was in detention, said the San Francisco police department in a press release.
The shooting was reported around 1:10 p.m. near Columbus avenue and North Point Street. Police said the suspect had killed the victim inside his car and left the area.
The police found the victim’s car parked near Leavevenworth and Beach streets. The victim was seated in the driver’s seat and suffered from gunshot wounds, police said.
The victim received emergency medical aid but was declared dead on the scene.
In the investigation into the shooting, the police learned that the suspect had gone to the central police station, police said. Neither the suspect nor the victim was identified on Wednesday.
“This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public,” the police said in the statement.
