Penn State football quarterback Drew Allar is out for the season with an injury suffered in Penn State’s 22-21 loss to Northwestern on Saturday, James Franklin announced during his postgame press conference.
Allar fell on a 1-yard run up the middle on 3rd and 4 on Penn State’s final drive of the game. He was in visible pain as athletic trainers ran to check on him. He stood up and walked under his own power for a second before putting his arms around the athletic trainers as he limped. He was evacuated after reaching the sidelines.
Allar opted out of a possible entry into the 2025 NFL Draft and opted to return to Penn State for his senior season before the team’s College Football Playoff game against SMU.
Allar’s senior season is now cut short. During his time at Penn State, he rushed for 7,539 yards and 61 touchdowns in 46 games. He also has 757 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.
Allar is not eligible for a medical redshirt. 2025 was his last year of eligibility. His career at Penn State and college is over.
