A woman died after being hit by a vehicle in Escondido late Saturday evening.
The incident occurred on East Washington Avenue near North Beech Street shortly before midnight, said Escondido police lieutenant Janice Kuehn. The pedestrian was estimated at around 60 years old.
No arrest was made on the scene, said Kuehn, and nothing indicates that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the collision.
The name of the deceased woman was not released. No other information was available.
