The 22-year-old man who, according to the first elements of the investigation, deliberately drove his car into a group of three young people this Friday, around 6:30 a.m., in Vannes, is still in police custody. The Vannes public prosecutor’s office has relinquished responsibility in favor of that of Lorient, which means that the young driver is being charged with criminal charges: attempted murder or assassination. He will be presented to the Lorient public prosecutor’s office this Sunday morning, at the end of his 48 hours in police custody, then to the judge of freedoms and detention who will have to rule on his possible incarceration.
Following a dispute leaving a nightclub, he allegedly deliberately knocked down a young 16-year-old from Vannes, as well as another 21-year-old, residing in Seine-Maritime but who has ties to Vannes. The third member of the group, also 16 years old, was in shock this Friday, after experiencing the scene. The minor injured first was transported in serious condition to the Vannes hospital center, where he would have been operated on this Friday afternoon. The second, more seriously injured, was transported to Pontchaillou University Hospital. He was in a coma this Friday and his condition is stable, according to our information.
