Peacock, just like other modern streaming services, is constantly trying to curate content available on its platform. This means that there are as many unfortunate cancellations as there are renewals. Peacock has now made the decision to cancel a new series after airing just one season on its streaming service.
The series truly offered an impressive cast, crew, and ensemble of guests. While Peacock greenlit the series in an effort to produce more adult animation for its service, it appears that Aware just didn’t work the way the platform wanted.
What’s surprising about this decision is that it was made for a series with a large cast and crew behind it. The series was actually created by none other than Mike Judge, Zach Woods, and Brandon Gardner. With guests including Kaia Gerber, Ken Burns, Finn Wolfhard and Mike Tyson, it’s quite a lineup for a season. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be enough to retain viewers.
Here’s what Deadline had to share regarding the Peacock series’ cancellation:
“Peacock has canceled In the Know, its first foray into adult animation combining stop-motion animation and live-action interviews.”
In addition to some of the aforementioned guests who appeared for the live interview segments, Aware also had a voice cast including talents such as Woods, Judge, Caitlin Reilly, Charlie Bushnell, J. Smith Cameron and Carl Tart. The cancellation comes almost a year since the series first released, with its one and only season releasing on January 25, 2024.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Peacock as we have them. While the series Aware was unfortunately deleted after just one season, many other shows are still produced and renewed for the platform. For fans of Awarethey can continue to watch the single season of the series via Peacock.
