Andre Onana was exploded by the former Manchester United star, Paul Scholes, after the goalkeeper produced two howlers against Lyon on Thursday evening.
The Cameroonian shot was at fault for the two goals conceded by the Red Devils, which meant that they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.
By trying to manage what turned out to be the last kick of the match in the 95th minute, Onana overturned the shot of Georges Mikautadze which allowed Rayan Cherki to type the rebound at home.
Speaking after the match on TNT Sports, Scholes said: “I think it was more important for the first, a huge error, a little more difficult but it must do better than that.
“Overall (it is) the right result. Lyon has played the best football and has created more opportunities, but (after), the score so late United will be disappointed and they are in good position at home, (therefore) they should always be big favorites, but they will have to improve.
This came after an earlier error to offer the local team of the head while he was beating a cross that had escaped the attackers in the middle, and saw the ball bounce on him and for the goal.

Onana’s errors intervene in the wake of a vicious person deposited by the former Red Devils midfielder Nemanja Matic, who presented him as “ one of the worst goalkeepers ” in the history of the club before the confrontation of the Europe League between United and Lyon.
The quarrel started with Onana saying that United is “better than” their opponents, with Matic, who left Old Trafford in 2022, taking up his brutal response on him being worse than most of the goalkeepers of the Red Devils.
Onana, who was mocked by fans of the house, would have hoped to prove that the Serb is wrong. Instead, he was most guilty for the opening of Thiago Almada after 25 minutes.
The incident sparked criticism from the former graduate of the Red Devils Academy Robbie Savage, who described him as a “terrible goal of goalkeeper”.
“It’s a goalkeeper error,” he said on TNT Sports. “It’s a good ball in a large region. Onana provides a touch? Everyone seems next to it. It is a terrible mistake as a goalkeeper, she bounces right in front of him, he must save this, it is a bad mistake as a goalkeeper.
“He dived late because he waits for someone to get a touch. Look, we can look at it as many times as we want – it’s a mistake.
Onana’s examination comes following a series of high -level errors since he joined United in 2023 for 47 million pounds sterling in Inter Milan.

Onana was also at fault for the goal of the 25th minute of Lyon Thursday evening after beating a cross
