In the final minutes of Thursday’s season-ending Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley threw a basketball at fans multiple times from the bench.

He threw the ball at one fan, called for a return pass after appearing to miss his initial target, then immediately threw it to another without remorse.

“Not fair at all”, Beverley tweeted early Friday morning. “Exchanged between a fan and our ball club all night. We warned and asked for help all night. Not fair.”

He continued to attack those around him after the match. During a media scrum, Beverley asked a reporter, ESPN’s Malinda Adams, if she subscribed to her podcast, Pat Bev Pod. She said no, and Beverley was not satisfied with that answer.

“You can’t interview me then,” he said, according to Alex Golden, creator/host of the Pacers Setting the Pace podcast.

He then implored Adams to take the mic out of his face several times.

“Move that mic, please, or just step out of the circle, please, for me, please ma’am,” Beverley said. “If you are not subscribed to my pod. I appreciate it. THANKS.”

Many took to Twitter to defend Adams and criticize Beverley’s hostile behavior. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said Beverley “should apologize for some things tonight.”

Colleague Malika Andrews called Adams “one of the best in the business – a consummate pro.”

Channing Frye, former NBA player said Beverley must offer a “big apology”.

Beverley issued a brief apology on Twitter, saying: “But I have to do better. And I will.

Adams tweeted Friday morning that Beverley called her and apologized directly, as did the Bucks.
