Paradise Valley vs. Park City: I preferred the most expensive city in Utah

Paradise Valley and Park City are both submerged panoramic locations in nature. I am sure I would be happy to wake up in one or the other mountain landscape every morning. Residents of the two cities said they enjoyed outdoor activities such as golf, hiking and mountain biking.

But the seasons have completely different weather conditions.

When I visited Paradise Valley in the spring, it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit. I felt perpetually in sweat, and I could not imagine doing intense activities outside in summer when it is often in the years 100. But I am sure that I would spend all winter in the wild, enjoying sunny and windy days in the 70s.

The winter weather in Paradise Valley is summer time in Park City. And the winters of Park City are clear and icy. Having grown up in Connecticut, I know the challenges of snow months – bitter walks against the wind, ice by dipping my socks and endless pellette.

But there is also something magical in a city that feels like a completely different place for part of the year. I loved spending whole days to shovel the pond of the backyard of my friend in ice skates just to slide an hour before sunset and start the next day. And when the snow melted, I was so grateful for the months of spring and summer.

I am sure that winter weather would feel even more magical in Park City if I took skiing or snowboarding. I thought that having another hobby that I could only appreciate during the coldest months, I would be waiting for winter.
