Parade float accident in North Carolina leaves 1 injured


RALEIGH, North Carolina — A holiday parade in North Carolina was canceled on Saturday after a truck pulling a tank crashed and injured at least one person, media reported.

Witnesses told WTVD-TV that those attending the Raleigh Christmas Parade heard the truck driver shouting that he had lost control of the vehicle and could not stop it before the crash.

One person was taken to hospital by ambulance, The News and Observer reported.

The person hit by the float was participating in the parade, according to a news release from the Raleigh Police Department. Police advised drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area.
