Panthers owner David Tepper confronted a Charlotte restaurant manager Thursday after seeing a sign in front of him that urged him to “please let the coach and general manager choose” during the this year’s NFL Draft.

Tepper, 66, is known to be quite involved with the Panthers, and it was rumored that he and former head coach Frank Reich disagreed over the team’s selection of quarterback Bryce Young No. 1 overall last year.

And Dilworth Neighborhood Grille in Charlotte caught Tepper’s attention before this year’s draft with its eye-catching sign, as security footage showed him entering the establishment.

According to WBTV, which spoke with restaurant owner Matt Wohlfarth, Tepper asked the restaurant manager who was responsible for the sign.

The answer to this question was Wohlfarth, even though he was not present at the time.

Tepper could also be seen removing the manager’s hat, which Wohlfarth said was because it was an Eagles hat.

The manager said Tepper was pleasant during the unexpected encounter, although Wohlfarth stuck to his sign.

“I need him to be more of an owner and less of a coach or general manager,” he said.

Tepper could be seen shaking the manager’s hand before leaving the restaurant.

The Panthers selected wide receiver Xavier Legette of South Carolina with the last pick of the first round.

They will soon be on the clock for the 39th overall pick in the second round.
