Palestinian-American boy killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank

A Palestinian-American teenager was killed by Israeli forces in occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian officials.

Omar Mohammed Saada Rabea, 14, was shot dead from the outskirts of Turmus Ayya on Sunday evening with two other 14 -year -old boys, one of whom was seriously injured. The other has undergone minor injuries.

The Israeli army said that its troops had opened fire to three “terrorists” who threw stones towards a highway and endangering civilians who led it.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what he called the last of an “series of extrajudicial murders” by Israeli forces.

There was no immediate comment from the United States, where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should meet President Donald Trump on Monday to discuss the war in the Gaza Strip, Iran and American prices.

There has been a peak of violence in the West Bank since the deadly attack of Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023 and the war which followed in Gaza.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed because Israeli forces have intensified their research and stopping raids across the territory, saying that they are trying to repress the fatal Palestinian attacks against the Israelis in the West Bank and Israel.

The mayor of Turmus Ayya said that Omar Rabea had been shot down on Sunday near the city entrance, which is approximately 15 km (9 miles) northeast of Ramallah and has a large population of Palestinians-Americans.

The Palestinian red crescent said that one of the two boys had been shot down at the bottom of the abdomen and the other on the thigh.

The AFP news agency cited one of the boys, which he identified as Abdul Rahman Shehadeh, saying that he had been shot by a soldier during the fruit collection.

The third boy’s father, Ayoub Asaad, said that he was also an American citizen and that the ambulance transporting him to the hospital had been arrested by Israeli soldiers to a military check -up outside the city, AFP.

The Israeli Defense Forces (FRI) said in a statement that during the anti -terrorist activity in the Turmus Ayya region, its soldiers “identified three terrorists who launched stones to the highway, endangering civilians driving”.

The soldiers pulled towards them, “eliminating a terrorist and hitting two additional terrorists,” he added.

The Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs based on the West Bank denounced “the use of living fire against three children” by Israeli forces.

“The continuous impunity of Israel as a power of illegal occupation encourages him to commit other crimes,” he warned.

Last Thursday, the United Nations Human Rights Head said that the situation in the West Bank was “extremely alarming”.

Volker Türk told the United Nations Security Council that Israeli North operations had killed hundreds of people, destroyed whole refugee camps and makeshift medical sites and moved more than 40,000 Palestinians.

In January, Israel launched a major operation entitled “Iron Wall Operation” against Palestinian armed groups in the north of the West Bank, saying that it was aimed at “defeating terrorism”.

Türk said his office had verified that the Israeli state and the violence of the colonists had killed at least 909 Palestinians through the West Bank since October 7, 2023, including 191 children and five disabled. He warned that some murders could represent extrajudicial and other killings.

During the same period, 51 Israelis, including 15 women and four children, had been killed in Palestinian attacks or armed clashes in the West Bank and Israel, he said.

Israel has built around 160 colonies sheltering some 700,000 Jews since he occupied the West Bank in the 1967 Middle East war. The regulations are considered illegal by virtue of international law, although Israel disputes it.
