Paige Bueckers and Geno Auriemma are moved to tears at the emotional and historical moment

Connecticut Huskies have done so.

Uconn has demolished the South Carolina in title 82-59 to win her 12th historic national championship, all under the head coach Geno Auriemma.

The Huskies won the title for the first time in nine years, while the fifth year superstar Paige Bueckers paved the way.

With a last opportunity that remains, she finally achieved her goal.

The All-American legend and Husky brought the national title to Storrs, Connecticut.

It had been to come for a long time, not only for Uconn, but also for Bueckers.

Thanks to end -of -season injuries, an unhappy chance and everything else, she returned for a fifth year to do exactly what she had undertaken to accomplish all these years ago to arrive in Storrs as a lean recruit.

And now she had led her team to the top of the mountain.

Bueckers came out of the game with 1:32 to go to a standing ovation and thunderous applause.

But above all, and satisfactory, was the emotional embrace that she shared with her head coach, while tears were formed in their eyes.

“He told me he loved me and I told him I hated him,” Bueckers joked after the match.

“No, I like this man more than words cannot describe.”

Auriemma and Bueckers have developed an extremely close relationship in the past five years

Auriemma highlighted the moment between the two when Holly Rowe d’Espn asked the head coach what was said at that time.

“I love you,” Auriemma replied, while fighting against tears.

“That’s all I can say. I love you …

“I have never been so happy as I have not been in the past two months by training a team.”

A strong declaration of a man who has been at the head of Uconn since 1985.

And now Auriemma and Bueckers will be forever connected in the history of university basketball.
