Division 1

Huntington Beach (34-3) against Mira Costa (32-2) at Cerritos College, 7 p.m.

Perspectives: Huntington Beach won five CIF-SS boys volleyball championships, more recently in 2015. The previous trip of the Oilers in the final was in 2021 when they lost to Santa Barbara in five sets. Huntington Beach went 12-0 in the Sunset League. In playoffs, the oilers went 3-0 in the 1 Pool B division with victories on Newport Harbor, Redondo and Loyola. Huntington Beach 6 inch 6 inches, the exterior striker, Logan Hutnick, has 479 team victims. The opposite junior striker Ben Arguello is the second of the team in the victims with 373. Division 2

Peninsula (19-7) to Mater Dei (25-12-2), 6.30 p.m.

The Rolling Hills Estates peninsula finished third, behind Mira Costa and Redondo, in the Bay League with five teams with a record of 4-4. In the playoffs of Division 2 of the 16 teams, the Panthers beat St. John Bosco in the first round, Santa Margarita in the quarterfinals and St. Margaret’s in the semi-finals. Their best players are the 6-4 Senior Kyle Boger intermediate blocker, the senior sector Robert Michael and the senior Drake Harris outdoor striker. Michael and Harris signed with UC Santa Cruz. Mater Dei won the Trinity League championship with a 9-1 record. Perspectives: Katella and Wildwood are in a volleyball final of CIF-SS boys for the first time. Katella, who has only two seniors on the list and four returnees from last season, started season 0-6. The Knights went 6-6 in the Orange Coast League to finish third in the League with five teams. In the playoffs, they beat Mirada in the first round, Highland in the second round, Southlands Christian in the quarter-final and desert Christian in Lancaster in the semi-finals. The second -year exterior striker Angel Gutierrez has 50 significant attacks during the playoffs. The junior exterior junior janden gonzalez has 42 striking attacks in playoffs. The senior intermediate blocker Richard Rodriguez has 34 striking attacks and 24 blocks in playoffs. Wildwood equaled Hawthorne MSA for the coastal league championship with a 9-1 record. The Wolves in the playoffs beat the colony in the first round, a century in the second round, Channel Islands in the quarterfinals and downstream in the semi-finals. The striker outside of Wildwood Senior Matthew Matuszak is a MVP of the coastal league with three omines. The winner of the final of Division 8 qualifies for the regional qualifiers in southern Southern California.

SATURDAY

Division 4

Sage Hill (18-11) in Santa Barbara (20-10), 1 p.m.

Perspectives: Sage Hill finished sixth in the League of the Pacific coast to eight teams with a record of 6-8. The Lightning qualified for the playoffs as a large team. Sage Hill won his first CIF-MS boys volleyball championship last year when he beat San Marino in the final of division 5. Among the returnees of this Sage Championship Hill, the senior external thickness 6-10 Jackson Cryst, who was the player of the year division 5 of last season. Cryst has signed with Long Beach State for volleyball. Opposite junior strikers Cooper Gapp and Dylan Han were CIF selections last season. In playoffs, they beat Elsinore in the first round, Fothill in the second round, Notre Dame de Sherman Oaks in the quarterfinals and Santiago de Corona in the semi-finals. The winner qualifies for the southern Southern California region that begins on Tuesday.

Division 3

Tesoro (17-13) against Orange Lutheran (25-13) at Cerritos College, 10 a.m.

Perspectives: Tesoro is in a volleyball final of CIF-SS boys for the third time in the last four seasons. The Titans won a title in 2022 and lost in a final of 23. Tesoro finished third in the South Coast League with five teams with a file of 4-4. The Titans had a bye in the first round before beating Harvard-Westlake in the second round, Los Alamitos in the quarterfinals and North Torrance in the semi-finals. Orange Lutheran won the Volleyball Championships boys CIF-SS in 2005 and 18. The throws finished last from the Trinity League with a 1-9 League record. They beat four champions of the championship in the playoffs, starting with Capistrano Valley Christian in the first round followed by Great Oak in the second round, Mission Viejo in the quarter-final and Warren in the semi-finals. Esperanza (19-13) against Kennedy (19-10) at Cerritos College, 12:30 p.m.

Perspectives: Esperanza won six CIF-SS boys volleyball championships. The most recent took place in 2014. The Aztecs finished third in the autonomous League at five teams with a record of 5-3. In playoffs, they beat Bellflower in the first round, Cypress in the second round, Wiseburn da Vinci in the quarterfinals and Newbury Park in the semi-finals. Esperanza’s outdoor striker, William Preston, has 352 striking attacks, including 53 people in playoffs. The senior external striker of the Aztecs, Tyler Lemmon, has a summit of 361 striking attacks, including 51 striking attacks. The senior sector John Bolaine has collected 793 assists. Kennedy won his only volleyball boys CIF-SS in 2017. Fighting Irish finished second in the Empire League with an 8-4 record. Kennedy in playoffs beat Ontario Christian in the first round, in California in the second round, Redlands in the second round, in California, in the quarterfinals and Vista Murrieta in the semi-finals. Division 6

Quartz Hill (25-12-1) against El Toro (17-15) at Cerritos College, 6 p.m.

Perspectives: Quartz Hill won a CIF-SS boys volleyball championship in 2008. The Royals equaled Lancaster for the Golden League championship with a 13-1 League record. In the playoffs, they beat Foothill Tech in the first round, Leuzinger in the second round, Rio Hondo Prep in the quarterfinals and village Christian in the semi-finals. El Toro played for the first time in a volleyball championship match of CIF-SS boys. The charges finished third in the Sea View League with a 4-4 file. El Toro in the playoffs beat Perris in the first round, Norwalk in the second round, Yucaipa in the quarterfinals and Laguna Blanca in the semi-finals. The senior outdoor striker of the loaders, Ryan Lim, succeeded in 27 striking attacks in the semi-finals against Laguna Blanca. The Senior Moses Kim sector was the MVP of the team as a junior. The opposite striker Senior Ben Earnshaw and Lim are three -year university starters. The winner qualifies for the regional qualifiers in southern Southern California who begin on Tuesday.
