Scenario of the day – so …… what is the next step
Kings are in playoffs.
We knew that he was going to arrive and that he was formalized late Saturday evening, while Vegas beat Calgary in overtime, cementing the Place des Kings as one of the 16 teams in the field of the playoffs.
“You never want Jinx anything, but I was talking about the playoff series in the media before having an” X “on our name, I felt fairly comfortable,” said head coach Jim Hiller. “You could have fun all kinds of me if we did not do so, that I mentioned the playoffs, but I think there was time when we felt fairly comfortable that we are going to be in the playoffs, so that does not change too much.”
Since Saturday evening, Vegas has won another match and has resettled a gap in the classification of the Pacific division. The Golden Knights are at the top of the division, five points ahead of the Kings with another game played. Then there are still four points in Edmonton in third.
The figures, via the playoffstatus.com qualifiers, tell you that the Kings have about 80% chance of finishing second in the Pacific, with 10% in the two directions to finish first or third. The Kings have 90% chance of revanching with the rounds of the turn 1, but in these scenarios, there are 90% chance that the Kings start at home. For a 29-4-4 team in Los Angeles this season, it’s a good thing.
But these are just the figures. These are for us. For the Kings, they go out and try to win matches.
“We are just trying to win all hockey matches,” said defender Joel Edmundson. “To win the ultimate prize, we have to eliminate the best teams, so whatever we play. We are just trying to settle our game during the next handful of matches here in the playoff series.”
If the Kings win their games – 4 of the last 6, to be sure – they will play the game 1 at home, whatever the opponent. Things seem to queue so that this opponent is Edmonton, but the division of the Pacific is always at hand, which would set up Saint-Louis or Minnesota in match 1.
Anyway, I guess the message does not change. It’s about winning hockey matches for the Kings. It starts this evening, while the Kings welcome Seattle during the first of the two games between the two clubs in the next nine days.
“We know that it is not as fun to have to start on the road, it is good to be able to stay here,” added defender Mikey Anderson. “We were successful at home, we like to play here, helping fans if you can start games 1 and 2. I think it’s the mentality right now, it’s continuing to win games, continue building our game and when match 1 arrives, we are ready to leave.”
Six games left on this control list, starting this evening against Kraken.
3 to watch –
– The Kings spent a large part of their practice yesterday working on the power game.
Recently, the Kings had a section with five games on the nine games on the power game, with six goals in total over this period. A little kuzmenko-bump. Since then, however, they have scored a goal in one of their last six games, the projection of two goals against San Jose.
There was not a ton of training time to work there, so when the Kings finally had time on a Sunday, they took advantage of it.
“We did not have much training time and we usually do the power game in an avant-match skate and it’s fast, we want to remove the guys from the ice,” said Jim Hiller. “We had the opportunity, not a high intensity, for really, really, really good representatives. I thought it was a good day that way. ”
Tonight is the match 77. There will not be this strong overhaul of systems at this stage of the game, but that does not mean that there can not be any changes in one way or another.
Hiller said that yesterday had practiced involved “moving a few people, to see what it looks like”.
Not that he abandons strategies, so it was probably a questionable point by asking. But he has pushed the idea a little that you cannot make this kind of changes so late in the season. I don’t know how different it will be tonight.
But they work there. Kings absolutely need platform production to compete at this level. To come the first game of the playoffs, the evidence will be in the pudding if the progress has in fact been made.
– I liked this quote today, by Jim Hiller about defender Brandt Clarke.
“I think it was as good as it was defensively in the last month. It is at the time of the year when hockey is the most difficult. There was a section where hockey became very hard and it carried it a little, but it bounced and played in its best way. It’s just a really positive sign for our team, when a guy can do and come together and play a good defense. ”
Really encouraging to see it with regard to Clarke.
He has certainly had his ups and downs this season, but he is an extremely talented player who is able to play games that other defenders cannot. To do this in the NHL, however, the defensive side must be there and it is encouraging to hear that it was. In Utah on Thursday, I noticed an additional rumble in the Clarke game that we have not always seen. It is a good sign, while we push towards the playoffs.
“Physicality obviously increases, it’s just this time of year,” said Clarke about the increase. “It’s exciting. We like to be in these games and like to play games. Last year was a good test but I’m happy to be here now and I think it’s just part of hockey.”
The match in April is not the match in November. To see a younger player raise his game to correspond to intensity and physicality is certainly a good sign.

Carrlyn Bathhe of Fanduel Sports Network will not be in the main television tonight. Instead, she will be in New York, hosting an alternative broadcast with Mike Kelly, director of analysis and information for Sportlogiq, which is actually a brilliant website where I draw some of the measures that I use here on Laki. The purpose of secondary distribution is to dive a little further on the NHL analysis and data data, with the description in the press release below –
Kings Stat Track will draw a high -corner camera party and select the cameras through Crypto.com Arena to offer fans a different perspective. Unlike the traditional broadcast of the Fanduel sports network, Kings Stat Track will incorporate a system for monitoring players and rings in real time provided by NHL Edge, the league data and analysis platform, constantly marking the washer carrier and highlighting the washer movement.
Completing the monitoring system, Sportsmedia Technology will provide an information and hockey monitoring system (HIT) for the official score and the capture, distribution and visualization of game data. The broadcast will provide real -time information, including players and positioning, line modifications, skate and speeds, shooting and backup analyzes game, etc.
Should be fun. Something is worth checking for a little different perspective on the game.
Kings and Kraken! Six to do before the big dance, from tonight!
