Ovechkin Chase joined by Gretzky, the NHL Bettman Commissioner with Record 3 goals

The league travel festival led by Bettman and Gretzky will be in each match of the capital until he broke the record. But it is not as simple as simply get on a plane and reserve a suite in the arena to be there for the story.

“We are dealing with this match and each match he played as an eliminatory match of the Stanley Cup,” said Steve Mayer, president of the NHL of content, events and productions. “We have traveled team teams from everywhere. These are the crews that make all the access programs. We have set up like everyone else. We are working with the networks with microphones and additional cameras. You have journalists from traveling networks. People treat it almost as a final game of the Stanley Cup.”

For the prospect, the Hurricanes had to make room for 46 cameras positions in the arena for TNT, Monumental Sports Network, Fanduel Sports Network, NHL Productions and Digital Crews of Capitals, Hurricans and NHL.

On January 9, when the Toronto Maple Leafs were at the Lenovo Center for a national television game on ESPN + and TSN, the Hurricanes had 26 video camera positions used.

On Friday, when the Montreal Canadians were there with their group of substantial itinerant media, there were 70 seats occupied in the press box. On Wednesday, there were more than 100, many of which were added after Ovechkin scored his 891st goal in Boston on Tuesday.

Emily Kaplan was there to ESPN making sports centers throughout the day from the arena.

Bettman was in the building by interviewing with the three networks broadcasting the game (TNT, Fanduel Sports Network, Monumental Sports Network). He was initially a pre-match press conference, but travel delays due to the weather in Toronto forced him to be canceled.

The Hurricanes have widened their press conference room at the disposal they use in the playoffs, allowing Ovechkin to make a post-match press conference in front of a special backdrop with the SHIELD NHL and the Chase GR8 logo.
