A brilliant opening maneuver of Oscar Piastri earned him the Saudi Grand Prix and the head of the Formula 1 pilot championship.
This is the first time that Australian has led the pilot championship for 15 years after his manager Mark Webber in 2010.
On the turn, Piastri obtained inside Max Verstappen, who had started the race on the post, which allowed the Dutchman to drive the road to recover the head. He then received a five -second penalty allowing Piastri to take the lead when the Red Bull driver opposed and to hold him to the checkered flag.
Verstappen was 2.843 seconds late with Charles Leclerc de Ferrari composing the podium.
Piastri won the head of the teammate McLaren Lando Norris, who started in 10th after having crashed into qualification and arrived fourth.
The Australian recruit Jack Doohan finished 17th in his alpine.

It is early with only five races, but after a ninth disappointing in the opening race in Melbourne Piastri is the pilot of form, having won Shanghai, Bahrain last week, and now Jeddah, and finished third in Suzuka.
“I am not disturbed to direct the world championship, but I am proud of the hard work that we have done to arrive here,” said Piastri.
“I want to lead the championship after the 24th, not fifth row.”
“It was a fairly difficult race, one of the most difficult of my career,” he added after 50 temperature turns of 30 degrees around a very fast track.
Each previous race for this season, including the Chinese sprint, had been won with pole, but Piastri obtained a large launch of the line and moved inside Verstappen.
The Dutchman plunged through runoff and stayed in advance, with Piastri on the radio to say: “He needs to return it, I was ahead.”
Verstappen’s point of view was: “He forced me to leave, there was no intention of him to make this corner.”
The commissioners rose with Piastri while Verstappen received a penalty of five seconds. “Well, it’s very charming,” said Verstappen.
