The first shocking sentence offered by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) during his conversation with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business Thursday morning was his statement that he believed the impeachment inquiry he is helping lead against the President Biden was “hopefully in the final stages.” ยป
This investigation, launched in September, has been in its final phase since January. Or rather since December. Or rather since November. It’s been in its final stages longer than it’s ever been for the simple reason that Comer and his colleagues keep pushing things forward in the hopes that they can wrap things up with a credible point of success. But credible successes eluded them. The investigation, on the contrary, offered only an excess of excesses and embarrassment.
