The president is seriously under water with the freelancers, according to the CIVIQS jobs rolling average.
Only 18% of independents approve of President Joe Biden’s professional performance, while 68% disapprove and 13% neither approve nor disapprove, according to the CIVIQS average as of July 3.
Independents have been seen as an increasingly strong and influential voting bloc, particularly in recent years, indicating the president is in deep trouble just 126 days from the midterm elections.
Ahead of the midterm elections, with the president’s polling failures, vulnerable Democrats who aligned with him also struggled.
Overall, the President is also seriously underwater.
Biden’s jobs approval rating is at the lowest of his presidency, 30% on Saturday. On Monday, Biden was not only at his lowest approval rating yet, but also at his highest disapproval rating at 58%.
Additionally, Biden is also underwater in 48 states — including typically dark blue California and his home state of Delaware. The only exceptions are Hawaii (45-41%) and Vermont (44-39%).
Biden’s overall net approval is at minus 27. His lowest job approval is in West Virginia, at 16%.
Biden has been plagued by poor job endorsement numbers and continued failures during his tenure.
His job approval was 31% on Friday, down from 32% and 33% in June and 34% in May. Similarly, nearly a month ago, the June 8 Quinnipiac poll also found Biden’s jobs approval rating at 33%.

The president’s low number of job approvals has come with many challenges during his roughly 18 months in office.
During his presidency, the country experienced a supply chain crisis, record inflation, a shortage of infant formula and the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Moreover, its flagship legislative proposal, the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better Act (BBB), has been dead in the water for some time. The country also recently saw a string of record high gas prices per gallon last month, with the average gas price hitting over $5.00 per gallon.
The CIVIQS rolling job approval average recorded 220,951 responses between January 20 and July 3. The CIVIQS tracking model captures changes in attitudes of diverse groups over time in all 50 states and Washington, DC. These changes can happen quickly or gradually.
