OnePlus Pad Pro launched in China with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

A little over a year after the launch of the OnePlus Pad, the company is all set to announce a more capable version under the OnePlus Pad Pro moniker.

The OnePlus Pad received mediocre reviews after it hit the market. In many ways, it was simply a new entry in the Android tablet market that lacked enough flair to be considered revolutionary. But maybe that’s simply because it wasn’t a “Pro” model.

The OnePlus Pad Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC – the same chip used in the company’s flagship Android phone. In total, there will be four RAM and storage combinations: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB. To power the SoC, OnePlus is also packing a 9,510mAh battery, which we imagine would be welcome to give the OnePlus Pad Pro enough juice for several days.

The main attraction of the Pad Pro is the display, which reaches a resolution of 3,000 x 2,120 and a maximum brightness of 900 nits. The display also appears to be certified for Dolby Vision. At 12.1 inches in diameter, it’s a big device. Good enough for drawing with the OnePlus Stylo, which we assume is included in the package.

The company announced the tablet on Weibo but is yet to announce a global launch of the device. For now, the OnePlus Pad Pro is only available in China with a starting price of ¥2,799. It is likely that the Pro version will launch globally in a few weeks or months.
