The sensation of Australian cricket Matt Short and Olympic swimmer Madi Wilson officially said “I do”, capping a few exciting years for athletes.
The Sporting Power couple, who started 18 months ago, made the knot during the weekend during a beautiful ceremony.
Wilson, a quadruple Olympic swimming medalist, shared a video for the social media of the couple kissing on a beach with the legend: “married ..”
The couple delighted news fans of the arrival in complete safety of their first child in August of last year – a little boy named Austin.
“Our little one is there and we could not be happier,” said the couple.
Wilson officially retired from swimming in January, announcing the news on Instagram.

“Seventeen years ago, I did my first Australian junior swimming team, so it is difficult to say what I think to announce my official retirement today,” she published on Instagram.
“Swimming has been most of my life and identity for a better part of almost two decades.
“It was the most incredible but most stimulating and enriching journey and I feel incredibly proud of the woman I have become and what I achieved throughout my time to represent Australia.
“I remember the girl I was, so inspired by the athletes I watched on television and I hope I was the same model of inspiration and role for those who come after.
“I am sad but ready to close this part of my life and to move on to what life then. To be a shy girl in the direction of the Australian swimming team, I could not have dreamed more.
“Thank you to all those who have had an impact on my career, you have made me the woman I am today.”
Wilson had an alarming fear of health in 2023 when it was discovered that she had several tumors in her breast.
“I have a lot of messages that come why I am not in the camp currently with my dolphins,” she wrote at the time.

“We found 4 tumors in my breast we needed to take biopsies.”
The tests revealed that the tumors were benign, but the swimming champion said that the experience was always “one of the most frightening things that I have experienced in my life”.
Short and Wilson started their romance during the 2023 Australian Cricket awards ceremony. The swimmer was previously dated with another Kyle Chalmers athlete.
Wilson made the headlines in 2021 when she was hospitalized with COVID-19 during her trips to Italy for the International Swimming League.
