NEW YORK– The new episode of ABC’s “General Hospital,” which was scheduled to air Tuesday, Jan. 7, will be preempted due to ABC News’ continued coverage of the state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.
For stations in certain areas of the country that air “General Hospital” after the ABC News special report ends, an encore episode will air at the show’s normally scheduled time.
What would have been Tuesday’s new episode will instead premiere Wednesday at the usual time.
ABC News coverage Tuesday afternoon will begin with the arrival of Carter’s body at Joint Base Andrews. Coverage will continue until arrival at the Capitol and service in the Rotunda. For more details on Carter’s state funeral, see this report.
