Colts coach, Shane Steichen, and Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon worked the Super Bowl, fed by the Eagles, the Super Bowl was produced in their current concerts. Their teams nevertheless voted in favor of the ban on the game.
Indianapolis and Arizona were among the 22 teams that voted to ban all the runners of the runner.
Steichen was previously the attacking coordinator of Philly, and Gannon was the defensive coordinator. The two left after the 2022 season.
In March, the Eagles coach Nick Sirianni addressed (with a smile) the posts he expected in Steichen, Gannon and the coach of the Saints Kellen Moore (Eagles attacking coordinator in 2024) to take.
“Gannon, Steichen and Moore Better to vote for that“Said Sirianni.” They are in the position right now because of this game. So the three, I have better these three votes right there and the voting of the Eagles. I at least know that there are four of us.
Moore and the saints opposed the proposal.
Obviously, Steichen and Gannon did not have the last word concerning the positions of their teams. It will be for them to explain to Sirianni why they could not make the difference.
Next year, when the League potentially takes another race to kill the game, the Eagles may have placed one or two additional coordinators in the head coaching jobs – if the Eagles go again to a Super Bowl, and if the offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and the defensive coordinator Vic Fangio have opportunities.
