OJ Simpson avoided paying Nicole Brown Simpson And Ron GoldmanThe families of millions during his lifetime — and now, from beyond the grave, he might be dodging them again… TMZ has learned.
While Malcolm LaVergne — OJ’s longtime lawyer and now executor of his estate – has made it clear he intended to talk about money with Nicole and Ron’s respective loved ones… Malcolm says an unexpected tax debt creates a new obstacle.
Malcolm told TMZ…the state of California has a massive tax lien on Simpson’s estate in the amount of $572,402.69 – which he says could derail his plans to settle part of the $33.5 million judgment OJ owed his victims’ families after the 1997 wrongful death trial.
Remember, although OJ was acquitted at his murder trial, he was later found responsible for Nicole and Ron’s deaths in a Santa Monica civil court.
Although the judgment was worth $33.5 million, interest on the unpaid debt ballooned to $100 million.

Malcolm says his lawyer has met with the Goldman family – as well as a representative for Ron’s mother Sharon Rufo, which auctioned off its rights to the judgment — earlier this month in its Las Vegas office. He says a representative from Nicole’s estate didn’t show up, even though he was invited.
We’re told they reviewed Simpson’s tax returns, 401K, bank statements and more — and Goldman’s attorney and Sharon’s rep were told they would be accepted into the estate…with the intention to satisfy their judgments.
The timetable for achieving this, however, remains uncertain. Malcolm says he’s still investigating the value of the estate, especially amid the tax lien.
He says he’s been “devastated” by the $500,000 debt and may have to go to court to sort it out before “it erases any idea I had in my head of pay something to Goldman” – which he said “would be good”. “.
Right now, the strategy is to fight privilege… which means a court will have to decide before any money can be released to Ron’s family members.
Malcolm is optimistic, however…believing that there are hidden gems in the field that could help defray some of the costs. He says OJ’s Heisman Trophy (although it could be a replica), paintings, golf clubs, black SUV, grand piano and more could potentially be liquidated and bring in a very pretty penny.
OJ fans might be interested in getting their hands on some of his most personal items, including video reels, furniture, and old photos of OJ with Nicole, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Muhammad Alietc.
Looks like Malcolm needs an “Everything Must Go” sign, STAT!!!
