Office reboot title potentially revealed

Peacock’s revival of The Office chooses a title worthy of its plot.

Office the currently planned Peacock reboot could change its name. The streamer is reborn Office universe, with a new series planned set in the same world as that occupied by the Dunder Mifflin faithful. Greg Daniels will return as showrunner and executive producer of this new Office next to Nathan for youby Michael Koman, which stars Domhnall Gleeson (About time, Ex-Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as its common thread. One of the biggest questions was whether the new series would continue Office name or go for something more unique, since it technically features a new cast and follows a different story. A new directory listing may have revealed what the working title will be.

Greg Daniels’ bio page on the Writers Guild of America West page shows him listed as showrunner and executive producer of The paperan untitled project by Daniels and Michael Koman. The paper is scheduled for the 2024-2025 season and is listed as a comedy, which fits with what is already known Office continuation. Of course, The paper might still just be a working title and Peacock and the creators have the right to change their minds and go for something else.

Steve Carell does not appear in The Office reboot

With the new version of Peacock Office bringing a new cast of characters, some wonder if any of the OfficeOriginal stars of , like Steve Carell, would return for a special appearance. However, Carell squashed those thoughts by stating that while he would watch, he would not show up.

“I’ll watch but I won’t come,” Carell said. The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of his new film, IF (directed by Office co-star John Krasinski). “It’s just a novelty and there’s really no reason for my character to appear in something like this.”

“But I’m excited about it, it seems like a big conceit,” he added. “I love the idea – I guess it’s set in a failed newspaper company. And I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who is one of the people in charge, I did The patient with him and he’s a great actor and a super nice guy so I think it’ll be great.”

The description of Office spin-off, potentially titled The paperis this: “The documentary team that immortalized the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin is looking for a new subject when they discover a historic Midwest newspaper dying and the publisher attempts to revive it with volunteer journalists.”

Peacock gave Office spin-off from an official series order in May. The series is executive produced by Daniels and Koman along with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille).
