ODOT is planning projects for next week


During the week ending October 29, the following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Clinton County.

New effects

I-71 Pavement Repair – Repair of longitudinal joints on I-71 between the SR 134 overpass and the Greene County line. Traffic will be maintained on at least one lane in both directions. The project is expected to be completed in late fall 2022.

I-71 Bridge Replacement – Replacement of the bridge on I-71 over Anderson Fork and Grassy Fork, between the SR 134 overpass and the Greene County line. On Sunday and Monday, October 23 and 24, crews will be moving traffic to establish the work zone that will be used during the first phase of construction. Lane restrictions will be in effect from approximately 8 p.m. each evening until 6 a.m. the next day, and traffic will be maintained in at least one lane in both directions. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.

Ongoing impacts

E. Baldwin Street (Blanchester) SRTS – As part of the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, a sidewalk improvement project on E. Baldwin Street, between N. Broadway and N. Columbia streets in Blanchester. The teams will work daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; however, there should be little to no impact on traffic. All work should be completed by early fall.

SR 380 Bridge Rehabilitation – Over Little Creek between Creek and Lebanon roads just north of US 22. Traffic maintained with temporary signals. The project is expected to be completed in late fall 2022.

Urban paving US 22 (Rombach Avenue) – Construction of a loon for eastbound traffic at the Progress Way intersection in Wilmington, a shared-use path along the south side of US 22 and paving between Oak Street and the limit of the Wilmington company. Traffic is maintained on two lanes in each direction; however, intermittent lane restrictions may be in effect as needed. All work is expected to be completed by mid-autumn 2022.

US 68 (South Street) signage – On US 68 (South Street) at the intersections with US 22/3 (Locust/Main Streets) and Sugar Tree Street in Wilmington. Traffic will be maintained during opening hours; however, intermittent restrictions will be in effect, along with short-term closures of parking areas and turning lanes at various intervals. All work is expected to be completed in fall 2022.
