An Oceanide police officer who had finished an assignment on the details of vice-president JD Vance was transported to hospital on Monday after being involved in a collision.
The incident was reported around 9:45 a.m. on the state road 76 near the Onramp until interstate 5 in northern direction.
“The officer had just released a detail and went to the OPD when the collision took place,” the Oceanside police said in a statement.
The officer injured in the injuries who did not put his life in danger and which were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the incident remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Vance, whose woman grew up in San Diego, attended a wedding in Oceanside during the weekend.
